「真実の口」

- Mouth of Truth -

　昨日、中間リング（エクステンションチューブ）の効用について調べました。最短撮影距離は変わらないことがわかったので、31mmのリングを90mmマクロにつけてみました。以前は、90mmにつけても、もともと最短撮影距離が短い（３０cm）ことからこれ以上短くしても意味がない（大きくはならない）と思いこんでいたのです。撮影倍率は180mmと同じ１．３倍でした。

    　Yesterday, I investigated the benefits of intermediate rings (extension tubes). I found out that the minimum focus distance does not change, so I put a 31mm ring on my 90mm macro. I used to think that even if I attached the 31mm ring to the 90mm macro lens, there was no point in shortening the minimum focus distance (30cm) since it was already short (it would not get any bigger). The magnification was 1.3X, the same as the 180mm.

　180mmでは暗いときは90mmを付けて行けそうです。ただ、ワーキングディスタンス（被写体とレンズ先端までの距離）は中間リング分短くなるのでフードが被写体と干渉する可能性が高くなります。この画を撮影するときもフードは外しました。

    If the 180mm lens is too dark, you can attach a 90mm lens. However, the working distance (the distance between the subject and the tip of the lens) is shortened by the intermediate ring, so the hood is more likely to interfere with the subject. When I took this picture, I removed the hood.
