時折風にのって雪が舞う寒い大晦日になりました。

雪が付着し溶けて水滴になるようで

ユリオプスデージーの細い茎にも

沢山の水滴がついていました。

一日一接も今日から２年目。

新たな表現を求めて続けていきたいと思います。

It was a cold New Year's Eve with snow fluttering in the wind from time to time.

The snow seemed to stick and melt into water droplets.

There were many water droplets on the thin stems of the Euryops daisy.

Today is the second year of "One Day, One Macro".

I would like to continue in search of new expressions.

薄曇りのやや柔らかい光を利用して一枚。

花の間に残っていた雪解けの水が

柔らかい光を反射していいアクセントになりました。

I took advantage of the slightly soft light of the lightly cloudy sky to take a picture.

The water from the melting snow that remained between the flowers reflected the soft light.

It reflected the soft light and made a nice accent.

「空からの便り」

朝窓を開けると一面の雪景色

自宅周りでは１０cmを超える積雪がありました

数年に一度の寒波到来

ということで昔の写真を調べてみると

これほどの雪は２０１７年の１月以来でした。

早速庭へ出て雪の結晶を探して一枚。

When I opened the window in the morning, there was a blanket of snow.

More than 10cm of snow had fallen around my house.

A cold wave that comes once every few years!

So I checked my old photos.

This was the first time we had this much snow since January 2017.

I immediately went out to the garden and took a picture looking for snowflakes.

「雪ん子」

今日は雪が降りました。

このあたりに降る雪は、

強い北風に吹かれ高い山の隙間からちぎれて

流れてきた雪雲が降らす雪です。

地表はまだ暖かい（雪にとっては、ですが）ので

雪の結晶は地表に届く前に溶けてしまいます。

一つくらいは、と探しましたがやはりだめでした。

It snowed today.

The snow that falls around here is caused by snow clouds that are blown 

by the strong north wind and torn from the gaps between the high mountains.

The ground surface is still warm (for snow, that is), 

so snowflakes melt before they reach the surface.

I tried to find at least one, but it was not possible.

今夜から天気が崩れるとのことなので、

自宅から車で30分くらいのところにあるフラワーガーデンに。

年内は今日まで営業とのこと。

いよいよ年の瀬ですね。

開園すぐに行くと水遣りの水滴が残っていることがあります。

パンジーの花に残っているのを見つけて一枚。

露出をアンダーにして水滴の輝きを強調してみました。

As the weather is supposed to get worse tonight.

I went to a flower garden about a 30-minute drive from my house.

They said they would be open until today.

It's finally the end of the year.

If you go to the garden right after it opens, you may find water droplets left over from watering.

I found some water droplets on a pansy flower and took this picture.

I underexposed the image to emphasize the brightness of the water droplets.

- Morning Sun -

今、ユリオプスデージーという黄色い花が盛んに花をつけています。

キク科の低木で冬から春にかけて花が咲きます。

花びらは一重のシンプルな花ですが、

時にはお椀型だったりグラス型になったり面白い形の花もあり、

この時期格好の被写体のひとつです。

Right now, a yellow flower called Euryops daisy is actively flowering.

It is a shrub of the Asteraceae family that blooms from winter to spring.

The flowers are simple with a single petal, 

but sometimes the petals are bowl-shaped or glass-shaped.

It is one of the best subjects to photograph this time of year.

一年植の水仙に花が咲きました。

春に球根の植え替えをしなかった個体です。

水仙の花言葉は「自己愛」。

よくナルシストに例えられます。

花が俯いて咲く姿が水面に写る自分の美しさに見とれている

ナルキッソスに似ているから。

そんな姿をイメージしてハイキーで仕上げてみました。

The annual daffodils have bloomed.

These are the ones that I did not replant the bulbs in the spring.

The language of daffodil flowers is "narcissism".

It is often compared to a narcissist.

The way the flower blooms face down, 

you can see as Narcissus gawking his own beauty on the surface of water.

I tried to capture this image in a high-key finish.

朝の斜光線を利用して一枚。

葉が捻れているので面白い造形が得られました。

This is my usual houseplant.

I took a picture using the slanting rays of the morning sun.

The leaves are twisted, so an interesting shape was obtained.

花も小ぶり

花びらも凍えているかのように咲いていました

カメラを向けると光の加減か

綺麗なグラデーションが現れました

今朝の冷え込みで今シーズン初、薄氷が張りました。

早速薄氷を水から取り出して日のあたる場所へ。

PLフィルターを通して見ると虹のように発色します。

フィルターの角度によって発色具合が変わるので

フィルターを回しながら良さそうな角度を探します。

また、氷は水に浸かっていると発色しないので

空中に浮かすのがコツ。

でこぼこしたところに氷を置くだけですが。

氷に当てる光も偏光板を通すと更に発色がよくなるようです。

色々と準備が必要なので別の機会にトライしてみます。

This morning's cold weather brought the first light ice of this season.

I immediately took the ice out of the water and put it in the sunlight.

When you look at it through a PL filter, it looks like a rainbow of colors.

The colors change depending on the angle of the filter.

I turned the filter to find a good angle.

Also, ice does not produce color when it is immersed in water.

The trick is to float the ice in the air, but only by placing it on a bumpy surface.

The light shining on the ice also seems to improve the color if it passes through a polarizer.

There are many preparations required, so I'll try it another time.

朝起きると屋根の上に薄っすらと雪。

今シーズン初。

日が差してくるとあっという間に、

消えてしまいました。

ナンテンの葉に雪の名残。

日差しにキラキラ輝いているところを一枚。

When I woke up this morning, there was a light dusting of snow on the roof.

The first snow of the season.

When the sun came out, it was gone in a flash.

Remnants of snow on the leaves of the nandina tree.

A shot of them glistening in the sunlight.

今朝は雨が止むのを待っての撮影。

あちらこちらに水滴があります。

ただ、日差しがないのであまり輝かない。

時折雲間から日がさしては来ましたが、

光量が足りないのでLEDライトを使って補うことにしました。

左手にライト、右手でシャッターの片手運転です。

I waited for the rain to stop this morning to take this picture.

There are water droplets here and there.

However, there was no sunlight, so they didn't shine very brightly.

Occasionally the sun shone through the clouds.

The amount of light was not enough, so I decided to use LED lights to compensate.

I drove one-handed with the light in my left hand and the shutter in my right.

「習作－青柱」

今日は霜柱に挑戦。

霜同様日陰にしか残っていない。

日陰は光が柔らかく全体に行き渡っているので、

画が平坦になり勝ち。

そこでLEDライトを持ち出してスポット的に照らしてみました。

左手でライトを持ち、右手だけでシャッターを切る。

ピントは固定で、体を前後させて合わせる。

軽い90mmマクロレンズならではの芸当。

Today I tried the frost pole.

Like the frost, it only remains in the shade.

In the shade, the light is soft and pervasive.

The picture tends to be flat.

So I brought out my LED light and tried to spotlight it.

I held the light with my left hand and used only my right hand to release the shutter.

The focus was fixed, and I moved my body back and forth to adjust the focus.

This is a technique that only a light 90mm macro lens can do.

「習作−霜と落葉」

a Study - Frost and Fallen Leaves -

今日は阿智村に来ています。

日陰にはまだ今朝降りた霜が残っていました。

面白い造形を探して一枚。

パンフォーカス気味にするためf5,6まで絞り、

シャッタースピードを稼ぐため露出はマイナスに補正。

RAW現像時にマイナスにした分、露出をプラスしました。

霜の白さを際立たせるため周囲は焼き込んでみました。

Today I am in Achi village.

In the shade, there was still some frost from this morning.

I took this shot looking for interesting shapes.

The aperture was adjusted to f5,6 to get a pan-focus effect,

and the negative exposure was tuned to increase the shutter speed.

When I developed the image in RAW, I added exposure to compensate for the negative exposure.

I burned the surroundings to highlight the whiteness of the frost.

いつもの観葉植物の本来の色は赤っぽい茶色。

ただ葉の表面に細かな毛が生えているのか、

表面が白っぽく光を反射します。

この光が暈けると青白く発光しているように見えるのですが、

朝夕の高度の低い日の光を受けるとその暈けが赤っぽく光るようです。

その赤を表現してみたくて普段より色温度をあげてみました。

The original color of my usual houseplants is reddish brown.

Because it's just that the surface of the leaves is covered with fine hairs,

the surface reflects light in a whitish color.

When the light is dazzled, it looks as if it is emitting a bluish white light.

In the morning and evening, when the light is low in altitude, it seems to glow reddish.

I wanted to express this red color, so I raised the color temperature higher than usual.

葉先の方向から狙うと面白い造形が見られる可能性が高いです。

この一枚は葉先からちょっと斜め横から覗いてまとめてみました。

If you aim from the direction of the leaf tips, you are likely to see interesting shapes.

This one was composed by peeking at it from a little diagonally across from the leaf tip.

観葉植物の葉の間に落ち葉が入り込み、

それが白く輝いているのを利用して撮った一枚。

宇宙旅行が一般的になって地の果てのような所へ

出かけられるとしたらこんな光景がみられるかも

If space travel became common and we could go to places like the end of the earth, we might be able to see something like this.

朝露に朝の日が差し込むのを待って一枚

雫は葉の先の両側についていたので

空気中の水分が結露してできたものではなく、

植物が体内の余分な水分を外へ出した際に

できたものでしょう。

いづれにしても日がさすに連れ消えてしまう運命。

その儚さを表現するためにピントは雫の表面ではなく

写り込みに合わせてみました。

Waiting for the morning sun to shine on the morning dew to take a picture.

The drops were on both sides of the tips of the leaves.

The drops were not from condensation of water in the air, 

but rather from the plant letting out excess water from its body.

Either way, they are destined to disappear as the sun goes down.

In order to express the fragility of the drop, 

I focused on the reflection of the drop instead of its surface.

温かい一日になりました。

朝の日差しに輝く山茶花の葉を一枚。

山茶花の葉はギザギザになっていて

そこが強く光を反射します。

逆光側からそのギザギザを撮影すると

色とりどりに丸く暈けて綺麗です。

It was a warm day.

When you photograph the jagged edges from the backlit side,

it is beautiful to see the colorful roundness.

今日は３日ぶりに日差しが戻る、

との予報でしたが、

時々雲間から差し込むだけ。

しかも風が強い。

光はない、風で被写体はファインダーから飛び出る、

マクロ撮影には不向きな日になりました。

お気に入りの観葉植物は、

自宅から車で３０分程のフラワーガーデンにあります。

葉がまっすぐ伸びないで

捻れて育つのがこの植物の特徴。

それを葉先から覗くとこんな一枚に。

Today is the first day of sunshine in three days.

The forecast was for a return of sunshine for the first time in three days, 

but the sun only shone through the clouds occasionally.

And it was also very windy.

There was no light, the wind was blowing the subjects out of the viewfinder.

It was not a good day for macro photography.

My favorite houseplants are

in a flower garden about 30 minutes drive from my house.

The leaves don't grow straight, and grow twisted, which is a characteristic of this plant.

I took a picture of it peeking out from the tip of the leaf, and this is what I got.

今日は一日雨ということで

小雨の中撮影を決行

光が少ないので柔らかい表現を心がけて一枚

山茶花の花の赤を出すため露出はアンダーに設定

RAW現像で明暗差を少し強調しました

It was supposed to rain all day today.

I decided to take pictures in the little rain.

There was not much light, 

so I tried to take a picture with a soft expression.

The exposure was adjusted to underexpose 

to bring out the red of the sasancha flowers.

I enhanced the difference between light and dark 

in the RAW development.

便利な世の中になりました

ネットで雨雲レーダーと雨雲の動き予測情報を閲覧できます

今降っている雨がずっと降り続けるのか、

いつ頃止むのかがいい精度でわかります

いつもの撮影タイムは雨

雨雲レーダー予測ではあと１０分ほどで３０分程度止むとの情報

その間、他の用事を済ませ庭に出ました

光がないので明るい９０mmマクロに中間リングはなしです

雨に濡れたサザンカの花を引きで一枚

しっぽり感を出すために露出はアンダーに補正

緊張感を消すためい４：３にクロップしました

Rain cloud radar and rain cloud movement forecast information can be viewed online.

You can see with good accuracy whether it will continue to rain or when it will stop.

It' s  raining when I take pictures today.

According to the rain cloud radar forecast, the rain will stop in about 10 minutes and last about 30 minutes.

I went out to the garden to do some other things until it would stop.

There was little light, so I took a bright 90mm macro without the intermediate ring.

サザンカが輝く季節になりました

花が盛んに咲くのもそうですが

葉が成長し艶が増すことでよく光を反射して輝くようになりました

また、太陽の高度も低くなり、反射光を撮りやすい時期でもあります

It's the season for the sasanqua to shine!

The flowers are in full bloom, and so are the leaves.

As the leaves grow and become more lustrous, they reflect more light and shine.

Also, the altitude of the sun is getting lower, which makes it easier to capture the reflected light.

強く朝日を浴びた２枚の葉をクローズアップしました

すっと伸びている葉なのでシャープな造形が得られました

マスキングの機能を使って背景だけ色温度を下げています

The leaves are straight, so the sharp shape was created.

I used the masking function to lower the color temperature of the background.

朝日があたっている枯れかけたスズランの葉にぐっと近寄って一枚

ちょうど根元のあたりに日があたって面白い造形を見せてくれました

サザンカはツバキ科の植物なので葉はツヤツヤしていて

陽の光をよく反射します。

先日の雨でサザンカの葉のホコリが洗い流され

その輝きが増しました。

特に棘の部分は強く光を反射し、

反射の方向によって干渉が起きるようで

虹のように色が現れます。

葉のカーブが棘の配置にリズムを与え、

ボールが跳ねているような造形を創り出しました。

The sasanqua is a member of the camellia family,

so its leaves are shiny and reflect the sunlight well.

The other day's rain washed away the dust on the leaves of the sasanqua 

and increased their brightness.

The thorns in particular reflect the light very strongly.

Depending on the direction of the reflection, 

interference seems to occur.

The colors appear like a rainbow.

The curve of the leaves gives a rhythm to the arrangement of the thorns, 

creating a form that looks like a bouncing ball.

寒冷前線が通過したときの特徴的な気温の変化です。

朝方は昨夜からの雨が残りましたが、

次第に日差しが戻ってきました。

雨に濡れたサザンカの花に日差しが差したところを一枚。
