「岩に咲く」

- blooming on a rock -

　蒸し暑い下界を脱出して高い山の頂上へ。そこは高山植物のお花畑になっていて可愛らしい花が色々と咲いていました。勿論、高山という厳しい環境に生えているわけですから花の可愛らしさからは想像もつかないような逞しさも身につけています。これはヒメレンゲという花のようですが、岩にくっつくように咲いていました。

　　I escaped the hot and humid weather below to the top of a high mountain. The place was a flower garden of alpine plants, with a variety of lovely flowers in bloom. Of course, since they grow in the harsh environment of the high mountains, they have acquired a toughness that you would never imagine from the loveliness of their flowers. This flower seems to be called "Hime Renge" and it was blooming as if it was attached to a rock.
