「習作ー玉葱」

- A Study of Onion Pictures -

　今日は朝からどんよりと曇り。曇りの柔らかな光にあうような被写体も思いつかず、昨日の山行きの疲れも残っていたのでテーブルフォトを撮ることにしました。手元には近くの農家さんに頂いた玉葱があったので、ふと、思い立って富嶽三十六景ならぬ玉葱三十六景を撮ってみることにしました。

　窓際に椅子を置き、背景に黒の色画用紙、光はカーテンとLEDライトで調整して引きから寄りまで三十枚余り。基本はf32まで絞り込んでパンフォーカスで撮りました。三十六枚のうち１～２枚は絞りを開けて暈けのある画でもいいかもしれませんが今後の研究課題です。

    　It was a cloudy morning today. I couldn't think of a subject that would suit the soft light of the cloudy day, and I was still tired from yesterday's trip to the mountains, so I decided to take a table photo. I had some onions given to me by a nearby farmer, so I suddenly decided to take a picture of them, not like the 36 Views of Mount Fuji, but like the 36 Views of Onions.

　I placed a chair by the window, used black colored construction paper as a background, and adjusted the light with curtains and LED lights. Basically, I aperture down to f32 and took pan-focus shots. One or two of the thirty-six pictures could have been taken with an open aperture and some vertigo, but that is a subject for future research.
