It was a rainy morning today. The light was not very strong, so I took off the extension tube and practiced framing the image by pulling it back. Since a photograph is a still image, the image itself does not move, but you can create an image that gives a sense of movement.
The key is to place the subject on the golden spiral, a spiral drawn with the golden ratio.
The starting point of the spiral is the intersection of the diagonal line of the rectangle with the vertical line down from the vertex opposite it. It is slightly outside of the four intersections of the tripartite line. The subject is placed at the starting point, and the supporting characters are placed along the spiral.
Of course, it's not always possible to frame the subject in a logical way since we are dealing with nature, but just being aware of this arrangement will change the picture.
