　今日は朝から雨。カメラもデジタルの時代。雨水がカメラとレンズの間に滲み込んで接点がショートすると駄目になってしまいます。こんな雨の日に便利アイテムがこれです。

    　It has been raining since this morning. Cameras are now digital. If rainwater seeps between the camera and the lens and short-circuits the contacts, the camera is ruined. This is a useful item for such rainy days.

　カメラとレンズにビニールの袋をかぶせただけのものですが、十分雨をしのげます。袋のままでは使えないので底と横の一方を切り開いてシート状にし、マスキングテープで①レンズフードの上、②レンズフードの下（シートを筒状に）、③カメラ本体に止めて使います（図の矢印のところ）。マスキングテープはホームセンター等に売っています。ある程度粘着力があって、かつ、剥がしたときにノリが残らないのでお薦めです。かぶせるものは水を透さず柔らかい素材であれば何でもいいです。これで雨の日も楽しく撮影できますね。

    This is just a plastic bag over the camera and lens, but it is enough to keep out the rain. You can't use the bag as it is, so cut open the bottom and one of the sides to make a sheet, and use masking tape to fasten it to (1) the top of the lens hood, (2) the bottom of the lens hood (to make the sheet cylindrical), and (3) the camera body (the arrows in the figure). Masking tape can be found at home centers. It is recommended because it has some adhesive strength and leaves no adhesive residue when removed. You can cover it with any soft material that does not allow water to penetrate. Now you can enjoy taking pictures even on rainy days.
