RAW現像を進める上で便利なツールが「マスク」ツールです。
紹介した「かすみの除去」ツールやプロファイルは
画像全体に作用します。
この「マスク」ツールを使うと、
マスクをかけたところだけかすみの除去を作用させるとか、
露光量や色温度等の変更ができるようになります。
例えば、明暗差のの大きな画像は、
全体の露光量を上げる（明るくする）と
もともと明るいところは白トビしてしまいます。
でも、明るいところだけマスクをかけて露光量を戻してやれば
白トビを防ぎつつ全体を明るくすることができるのです。
このマスクツールをふんだんに使って創った作品がこれ。
どこに使ったかは想像してみてください。
The "Mask" tool is a useful tool in the RAW development process.
The "Remove Haze" tool and profile application described above
work on the entire image.
Using the "Mask" tool, you can apply haze removal only to the masked area, or change the exposure, color temperature, etc.
For example, in an image with a large difference between light and dark,
if you increase the overall exposure (brighten the image),
the originally bright areas will be blown out.
However, if you mask only the bright areas and turn back the exposure level, you can brighten the whole image while preventing white tint.
This is the work that I created using this mask tool a lot.
