「飛躍」

- making great strides -

　今にも飛び立ちそうな種があったので、それを主役にまとめてみました。逆光側から撮ることで綿毛の輝きを強調しています。露出は綿毛の輝きに合わせているので背景は自然と暗く落ちました。

    　There was a seed that was about to take off, so I put it together as the main subject. By shooting from the backlit side, I emphasized the brilliance of the cotton wool. The exposure was adjusted to match the brilliance of the fluff, so the background naturally fell dark.

「羞じらい」

- shyness -

　今日は少し雲があるような天気。アサガオの花びらが面白い形をしていたので、日が雲に陰るタイミングを待って撮った一枚。柔らかい光の中でピンクの暈けを活かすピント位置を選択。アクセントに背景の緑を配置しました。

    The weather was a bit cloudy today. The petals of the morning glory had an interesting shape, so I waited until the sun was behind the clouds to take this shot. I chose a focus position to take advantage of the pink vertigo in the soft light. The green background was placed as an accent.

「秘め事」

- something hidden -

　暑い日が続きます。撮影は朝の涼しい時間帯を中心に行うのですが、虫及び日焼け対策から長袖、長ズボンという出で立ち。日差しがあるときは３０分くらいの撮影で汗びっしょりになります。流石に大変なので、いわゆる空調服なるものを買いました。ベストタイプでかっこいいスポーティなウェアもありましたが、撮影で藪のなかに入っていったりするので、丈夫そうな長袖の作業着タイプのウェアを選択しました。快適です。集中力を奪われないのがいい。風量調整ができるタイプなので長く使えそうです。

    The hot days continue. I mainly shoot in the cooler morning hours, but I wear long sleeves and long pants to protect myself from insects and sunburn. When the sun is shining, I am drenched in sweat after about 30 minutes of shooting. It was too much work, so I bought what is called an air-conditioning suit. There were cool sporty vest-type clothes, but since we were going into the bushes for the shoot, we chose long-sleeved work clothes that looked durable. It's comfortable. I like that it doesn't take away my concentration. The air volume can be adjusted, so it will last a long time.

「Swinging」

　昨日とは打って変わっての晴天。雲ひとつないという好天になりました。

　マクロ撮影で一番重要な、うっかりしやすいポイントはシャッタースピードです。手持ちで風景写真を撮るとき、シャッタースピードを「１／焦点距離」秒より早くすると手ブレし難いと言われています。焦点距離50mmのレンズなら1/50秒より早いシャッタースピードを選択する、ということです。しかし、マクロ撮影ではこの論理は使えません。マクロレンズは他のレンズと比べ撮影倍率が高い（大きく写る）ことと、被写体が主に風の影響を受けて細かく動いていて被写体ブレを起こしやすいのがその理由です。

　マクロ撮影のシャッタースピードは、以前にも書きましたが、1/1000秒を目安にします。遅くとも1/500秒より早くします。被写体との距離を決めたら忘れずにシャッタースピードをチェックすることがポイントです。露出モードは絞り優先とし、シャッタースピードが1/1000秒に満たない場合はISO感度を上げます（数字を大きくする）。ISO感度の数字を２倍にするとシャッタースピードも２倍早くなります。ISO感度が200でシャッタースピードが1/250秒なら、ISO感度を800にすればシャッタースピードは1/1000秒になります。であれば、最初からISO感度を高くしておけば良いように思われるかもしれませんが、ISO感度を高くするとノイズが目立つようになる（ノイズが乗ると、特に、暈けた部分が滑らかさが失われザラザラした感じになります）ため、シャッターチャンスに余裕があるときはISO感度を下げます。

　以前はC社のデジタル一眼を使っていましたが、ISO感度は200まで。400がギリギリ許容範囲でした。今は感度が良いと言われるS社のミラーレスを使っていますが、800までが常用で、1600がギリギリ許容範囲という感じです。

 　今日のような晴れの日はシャッタースピードを稼ぎやすくマクロ日和といえましょう。なお、ファインダーを覗きながらISO感度調整ができるとシャッターチャンスを逃すリスクが減ります。

    It was a beautiful day, a complete change from yesterday and a beautiful day with not a cloud in the sky.

　The most important point in macro photography is the shutter speed. When taking hand-held landscape photos, it is said that if the shutter speed is faster than 1/(focal length) second, camera shake is less likely to occur. This means that if you have a 50mm focal length lens, you should choose a shutter speed faster than 1/50 second. However, this logic cannot be used in macro photography. The reason for this is that macro lenses have a higher magnification (larger image) than other lenses and the subject is moving very finely, mainly affected by the wind, which can cause subject blur.

　As I mentioned before, the shutter speed for macro photography should be 1/1000 second. At the very least, it should be faster than 1/500 of a second. The key is to remember to check the shutter speed once you have determined the distance to the subject. If the shutter speed is less than 1/1000th of a second, increase the ISO sensitivity (increase the number). If the ISO sensitivity is 200 and the shutter speed is 1/250 of a second, the shutter speed will be 1/1000 of a second if the ISO sensitivity is 800. If the ISO sensitivity is 200 and the shutter speed is 1/250 sec. When I have a good chance to get a good shot, I lower the ISO sensitivity.

　I used to use a digital SLR camera from Company C. The ISO sensitivity was limited to 200, and 400 was just about acceptable. Now I am using a mirrorless camera from Company S, which is said to have good sensitivity, but I usually use ISO up to 800, and 1600 is just about acceptable.

 　On a sunny day like today, it is easy to increase the shutter speed and it is a good day for macro photography. If you can adjust the ISO sensitivity while looking through the viewfinder, you can reduce the risk of missing your chance.

「君は天然色」

- You are naturally colored -

　今日は朝から雨模様。時折大粒の雨が降ってくるような天気。雨雲レーダーを見ながら雨間を探しながらの撮影となりました。ユリズイセンの長い蕊に小さな水玉がたくさん付いていたのでそれを主役にしながら、ユリズイセンの彩度の高い色を活かしながら夏らしさを表現してみました。蕊だけでなく周りの花びらにも水玉がたくさんついているので、ごちゃごちゃしないようピント面が蕊の水玉だけに来るようにアングルを調整しています。

    It's been raining since this morning. The weather was rainy, with occasional heavy showers. I had to check the rain cloud radar and look for a break in the rain. The long stamens of the lily of the valley had many small polka dots on them, so I decided to use them as the main subject of the photo, and tried to express the summer atmosphere by using the highly saturated colors of the lily of the valley. There were many polka dots not only on the stamens but also on the surrounding petals, so I adjusted the angle so that the focus was on the polka dots on the stamens.

「月夜の使者」

- Moonlit Messenger -

　またまたauto WBセンサーの誤作動を利用してまとめてみました。元々は赤紫色の花びらですが色温度が下がって青くなりました。逆光側から撮影していますが、今回は直射光がやや雲に影って光量が落ちた時に誤作動しました。こういう偶然を楽しめるのもミラーレスカメラの特権ですね^^

　I also took advantage of the auto WB sensor malfunction to produce the picture. The petals were originally reddish-purple, but the color temperature was lowered and they turned blue. I took this picture from the backlit side, but this time the sensor malfunctioned when the direct light was slightly overshadowed by clouds and the light level dropped. It' s a privilege of mirrorless cameras to be able to enjoy such coincidences.

「輝き」

- brightness -

　遅れてやってきたグラジオラスが花をつけました。花びらの緩やかなカーブに夏の強い日差しがあたって輝いていました。それを主題にして一枚まとめてみました。ピントは花びらが描くカーブが一番シャープになるところを探って合わせました。

　　The gladiolus, which came late, has started to flower. The gentle curve of the petals shone in the strong summer sunlight. I focused on this curve as the subject of this shot. I tried to find the point where the curve of the petals would be sharpest.
