「うなじ」

- the nape -

開きかけたバラの花に、昨夜の雨の名残がありました。色っぽさを感じるのは私だけ？

　

さて、RAW形式のイメージを上図に示します。現像のポイントは、全体に冴えた色にしたい。実物はもっとピンクが鮮やかです。①背景はもう少し暗くしたい、②花の手前は少し傷みが目立つので目立たないようにしたい、③花の影が邪魔、の４つです。

現像の過程を左から順番に並べてみました。

一番左・・・コントラストを強めて花を明るくし、色温度を下げました（赤→ピンク）

二番目・・・背景①を焼き込み、色かぶり補正を緑側に調整

三番目・・・②の部分の色温度を下げることで傷んだところの色を茶→赤へ

　　　　　　目立つ傷はスポット修正で修正

四番目・・・段階フィルターを使って左上をやや明るく、右下を暗くしてメリハリを

最後・・・・③の影を、色温度、露光度を調整して周りの色に馴染ませて完成です

「御来光」

- the rising sun -

　今日は朝から雨脚が強く、屋外での撮影ができないので久しぶりに物撮りに挑戦してみました。RAWイメージはこれです。

　RAW現像を行うときは、出来上がりの画をイメージしてそれに近づけるように元イメージを調整していきます。ただ、私もそうでしたが、最初のうちは出来上がりの画がイメージできません。そういうときは元イメージの気に入らない部分を調整していく方法をとります。気に入らない部分を調整しながら出来上がりのイメージを具体化していく作業です。

　さて、この画の現像ポイントは以下です。

1. 全体にコントラストを上げる
2. ①、②の部分が余分なので焼き込んで消す
3. ③のシャープさを増す
4. ④の色調を青みをかける
5. 光が右上から左下の方向（⑤→の方向）に差しているように調整

　具体的なLightroomの操作は

1. トーンカーブの傾斜を増す
2. 円形フィルターで①、②の部分を選択し、焼き込み（＝露出値を下げる）。円形フィルターの選択が足りない部分はブラシツールで追加する。
3. 円形フィルターで③の部分を選択し、「かすみの除去」「明瞭度を上げる」。かすみを除去するとやや暗くなるのでその分露出値を上げる。
4. 円形フィルターで④の部分を選択し、色温度を下げる（青みを加える）。
5. 右上から段階フィルターを使って覆い焼き（＝露出値を上げる）、左下から段階フィルターを使って焼き込み。

最後に全体の色調、露出、コントラストを調整して完成です。

「薔薇星雲」

- Rose Star Cloud -

　薔薇の花びらにポツンと雨粒が乗っかっていました。その水滴を宇宙の旅行者、花を銀河に見立てて画にしてみました。

    I found a raindrop on the petal of a rose. I tried to depict the droplet as space a traveler and the flower as a galaxy.

　このブログに掲載している作品はすべてRAW形式で撮影記録し、その後、Adobe Lightroomを使っていわゆるRAW現像を行っています。RAWとは直訳すれば”生”という意味で、デジタルカメラの撮像素子から出力されたデータそのまま、という意味です。

    The images in this blog are all recorded in RAW format, and then developed using Adobe Lightroom. RAW means "not processed", meaning the data as it is output from the image sensor of the digital camera.

　これをRAW現像して作品に仕上げていきます。現像のポイントは以下です。

全体にコントラストを上げる（雨が降るような天気なので仕方ないです）

主役（下図の１の部分）を引き立たせる

奥行きをつける（下図２）ために徐々に暗くし、色温度を下げる（青っぽくする）

手前（下図３）は明るくする

メリハリをつけるため下図４の部分を暗くする

    I developed the image in RAW to make it into a work of art. The key points for developing are as follows

• Increase the contrast throughout (it couldn't be helped since the weather was rainy)
• Accentuate the main subject (part 1 in the above image)
• Gradually darken and lower the color temperature (make it bluish) to add depth ( 2 in the above figure)
• Lighten the foreground ( 3 in the above figure ).
• Darken the area shown as 4 in the above figure to make it stand out.

　全体のコントラストの調整は「コントラストのスライドバーを使ってもいいですが、トーンカーブをよく使います（トーンカーブの傾斜を強くする）。

　主役である水玉の引き立たせは、部分補正ツールにて「かすみの除去」「明瞭度UP」「露出をプラス」してまわりから少し浮き出して見えるようにします。

２，３，４はいずれも部分補正ツールを使い、ブラシツールで部分補正ツールでカバーできない部分を補います。余分なところは削ります。

　部分補正は全体のバランスを見ながら２－３度交互にやり直します。

　最後に、全体の明るさ（露出）、色味（色温度、色かぶり）を微調整して完成です。

    To adjust the overall contrast, you can use the contrast slide bar, but I often use the tone curve (increase the slope of the tone curve).

　To make the polka dots stand out from the surrounding area, use the partial correction tools to "remove haze," "increase clarity," and " increase exposure.

    For 2, 3, and 4, use the Partial Correction tool, and use the Brush tool to fill in the areas that cannot be covered by the Partial Correction tool and remove the excess.

　Repeat the partial corrections a few times while keeping an eye on the overall balance of the image.

　Finally, fine-tune the overall brightness (exposure) and color (color temperature and color casts).

　アヤメの青い花びらに朝日が当たり、それを逆光側から見るとまるで青く炎が燃えたているように見えます。露出をマイナス補正して炎を強調しました。

    　The blue petals of the iris were hit by the morning sun, and when viewed from the backlit side, they looked like blue flames burning. I adjusted the exposure to minus to emphasize the flames.

「光の抱擁」

　日差しがあると表現の幅がひろがります。花びら越しにサツキの特徴のひとつである長いシベを撮影。サツキの花びらをぼかして光が漂っているような雰囲気を演出。バックに葉の緑のボケを配置することで光の輝きを強調しました。

    　Sunlight gives us a wider range of expression. The long stamen, one of the characteristics of the Satsuki, was photographed through the petals. I blurred the petals to produce an atmosphere of drifting light. The green blur of the leaves in the background emphasizes the brilliance of the light.

　面白い形のチューリップの葉があったので、葉に日が差すのを待って撮ってみました。チューリップもそろそろ来年に向けて球根を掘り出す時期です。

「誘惑」

　薔薇の花が咲き揃いはじめました。辺りには甘い香りが漂っています。薄曇りの柔らかい光を使いながら花全体を柔らかくぼかして、その甘い香りを表現しました。少しコントラストを上げて影の部分を強調し、妖しげな魅惑を出してみました。

    　The roses are beginning to bloom. There is a sweet fragrance in the air. I used the soft light of the lightly cloudy day to softly blur the entire flower to express its sweet fragrance. I slightly enhanced the contrast to emphasize the shadows and produce a mysterious allure.

　スズランには谷間の姫百合という別名があるそうです。トップライト気味の木漏れ日を利用して渓谷の奥深くに人知れずひっそりと咲くユリの花を演出してみました。

「おとめ心」

　昨年の１２月に植えた薔薇が咲きました。まだまだ木が若いので二輪だけ花を付けました。買ったとき木につけられていたタグによればもうすこしピンクの強い色の花がつくはずなんですが、ピンクというよりベージュに近い色をしています。土壌の質にもよるのかな？自分の影を利用（手前に影を落として奥側のボケを明るく強調）して恥じらい感を演出してみました。

    　The rose I planted in last December has bloomed. The tree is still young, so only two flowers were bloomed. According to the tag that was attached to the tree when I bought it, the flowers should be a little more pink, but they are more beige than pink. I wonder if it depends on the quality of the soil? I tried to produce a sense of embarrassment by using my shadow (casting a shadow in the foreground and emphasizing the bright blur in the background).

「夏の香り」

　近くの土手にオオイヌノフグリが咲いていました。一般的には雑草と呼ばれる植物ですが青く可愛らしい花が咲きます。今日は初夏のような日になるようです。露出をプラス補正し、青い花を散りばめて夏の雰囲気を表現してみました。

　今日、明日と阿智村に来ています。ムスカリの近くにスイセンが咲いていました。このふたつの花が同時に咲くのは阿智村らしいのかな？あまり平地で見かけた記憶がありません。ひだまりの中おしゃべりをしているような雰囲気でまとめてみました。

    I am in Achi village today and tomorrow. Daffodils were in bloom near the muscari. I wonder if it is typical for Achi village to have these two flowers blooming at the same time. I don't remember seeing many of them on the plains. I tried to put them together in an atmosphere as if they were chatting in the sunshine.

「赤紫の印象」

　サツキは目立つ色と長い蕊が特徴の花です。花の後ろから日が差すと独特な色を発します。雄しべの先には花粉嚢がついているのですが、落ちてしまうのでしょうか？この花にはついていません。そうなると細く長い蕊の印象がより強くなります。

　サツキが綺麗に咲き揃いました。昨夜の雨が一粒だけサツキの花の中に残っていて日の光を受けて輝いていました。それを主題に、ちょっと怪しげなイメージに仕上げてみました。

「夢にかける想い」

　雨の一日になりました。ムスカリの上に乗っかった水滴を狙ってみました。

　さて、ここで訂正です。以前、雨対策としてお手製のレンズ・カメラカバーの作り方を紹介しました。カバーを止めるのにマスキングテープを使いましたが、以外と水に弱いことがわかりました。フード側２箇所はダブルクリップ等で物理的に止めるほうが確実です。ただし、広角レンズではレンズの視界にクリップが入ってきてしまうのでクリップは使えません。マスキングテープの貼り方にも工夫が必要のようです。今後の研究要です。

「探求」

　サクラソウの中にカタバミが咲いていました。いわばカタバミは雑草ですが、その黄色い花が朝日を受けて輝く様はちょっと印象的でした。露出をマイナス補正して黄色を際立たせ、サクラソウの中に明け方まで降っていた雨の名残を見つけてアクセントとしました。

「明日天気になぁれ」

　今日は朝から雨。カメラもデジタルの時代。雨水がカメラとレンズの間に滲み込んで接点がショートすると駄目になってしまいます。こんな雨の日に便利アイテムがこれです。

    　It has been raining since this morning. Cameras are now digital. If rainwater seeps between the camera and the lens and short-circuits the contacts, the camera is ruined. This is a useful item for such rainy days.

　カメラとレンズにビニールの袋をかぶせただけのものですが、十分雨をしのげます。袋のままでは使えないので底と横の一方を切り開いてシート状にし、マスキングテープで①レンズフードの上、②レンズフードの下（シートを筒状に）、③カメラ本体に止めて使います（図の矢印のところ）。マスキングテープはホームセンター等に売っています。ある程度粘着力があって、かつ、剥がしたときにノリが残らないのでお薦めです。かぶせるものは水を透さず柔らかい素材であれば何でもいいです。これで雨の日も楽しく撮影できますね。

   第7回 FAPA(Fine Art Photography Awards)の入選発表がありました。目標としていた上位入賞はなりませんでしたが、アマチュアAbstruct部門に入選(Nominee)しました。各部門上位３名が入賞。オリンピックの表彰台に上がるくらいの難易度なので簡単ではないですね^^

 「躍動」

　マクロ撮影に役立つツールとして以前一脚を紹介しました。今回は「中間リング」を取り上げたいと思います。中間リングはその名の通りレンズとカメラの間に入れて使います。テレコンバーターと違い光学系の仕組みは一切なく、ただの中空のリングです。接写リングやエクステンションチューブとも呼ばれます。中間リングをつけることで最短撮影距離を短くできその分撮影倍率が上がりより大きく写すことができます。マクロレンズの場合はもともと最短撮影距離が短いので、距離を短くすることよりも撮影倍率を上げられることのメリットが勝ります。虫眼鏡で小さなものを見る時、虫眼鏡を少し目から離して見たほうがより大きく見えるのと理屈は同じです。より小さな物を大きく写すことができるので肉眼では見ることのできないような世界を楽しむことができます。なお、中間リングをつけると無限遠はピントが合わなくなります。レンズにもよりますがピントが合うのは大凡２～３ｍ先くらいまで（Tamron 180mmマクロレンズ＋31mm中間リングの場合）です。

　さて、その中間リングを使った作例。フリージアは花芯が黄色でそこから真っ白な花弁が５枚、シューッと格好良く伸びています。その格好良さを表現してみたつもり。

　白の花弁に花芯の黄色が華やかなフリージア（と思われる花^^;)が咲きました。小さな球根から育つ多年草です。フリージアの一輪の前にもう一輪配置して前ボケとしながら後ろの一輪の黄色を強調しています。

    　A freesia (I think ^^;) with white petals and a gorgeous yellow core has bloomed. It is a perennial plant that grows from a small bulb. I placed another freesia in front of the first one to emphasize the yellow of the one behind it while creating a blur in the foreground.

「青のステージ」

　ネモフィラも青の綺麗な小さな花で、マクロ撮影向きといえましょう。露出をマイナスに補正すれば深い青に、プラスに補正すれば輝く青に撮れます。これはプラスに補正して輝くステージを演出してみました。

    　Nemophila is another small flower with a beautiful blue color and is suitable for macro photography. Negative exposure compensation produces a deep blue, while positive compensation produces a brilliant blue. In this case, I used a positive exposure compensation to produce a shining stage.

　春は旅立ちの季節でもあります。春の日差しの中、たんぽぽの綿毛が輝き、旅立ちに良い風を待っている姿を撮ってみました。強い風が吹くと種が飛ぶのですが、そんなに都合良くは吹いてはくれません。

「初夏の香」

　ムスカリは花壇の名脇役としてあちこちで見ることができます。春に咲く花ですが、その端の深い青はとても印象的で、青い夏の海や空を思い起こさせてくれます。背景に白い花を配置して夏のイメージを演出してみました。

    　Muscari can be seen in many places as a supporting player in flower beds. Although it blooms in spring, the deep blue color at its edge is very striking and reminds me of the blue summer sea and sky. White flowers were placed in the background to produce the image of a shining summer.

「New wave」

　チューリップもピークを過ぎたようです。遅く咲いてきた花の黄色が初々しく朝日に輝いていました。少し緑を配置してそのチューリップの初々しい曲線を撮ってみました。隣には真っ赤な牡丹が咲き始めましたが、今日は玉砕しました。大柄な花だけにマクロ撮影には大胆な発想が必要のようです。

    　The tulips seem to have passed their peak. The yellow of the late-blooming flower was shining freshly in the morning sun. I placed a little greenery in the shot to capture the fresh curves of the tulip. Next to the tulips, bright red peonies had started to bloom, but I couldn't get a shot of them today. It seems that macro photography requires a bold idea because of the large size of the flowers.

「黄と青のモニュメント」

　アヤメの花が咲きました。黄色と青紫のコントラストが特徴の花です。アヤメ、カキツバタ、花菖蒲とよく似た植物で、どれがどれなのかよく間違えます。陸地に咲くのがアヤメ、水際がカキツバタ、中間が花菖蒲なのだそうですが、花菖蒲の花は黄色が基本です。

　The iris flower has bloomed. These flowers are characterized by the contrast of yellow and blue-violet. Iris, Kakitsubata, and Hanashobu(Japanese iris) are all very similar plants, and we often get confused about which is which. 「甘い記憶」

　紫色も鮮やかなその名もムラサキハナナ（紫花菜）。甘い香りがする花です。前ボケ、後ボケに花を配置して甘い雰囲気を演出してみました。甘い香りを感じていただけたら成功です。

    　The purple flower, also known as purple flower mustard, is bright purple. This flower has a sweet fragrance. I tried to produce a sweet atmosphere by placing the flowers in the front and back bokeh. If you can feel the sweet scent, it is a success.

「浮世」

　もう桜の季節ですね。あちらこちらで満開を迎えています。桜は梅と違って一斉に咲きそろうところが素晴らしく、広角レンズ向きの花です。つまり、マクロ向きではない、と思うのですが、ごちゃごちゃ言い訳していてもしょうがないので一輪水に浮かべて撮ってみました。

    　It's already cherry blossom season. Cherry blossoms are in full bloom here and there. Unlike plum blossoms, cherry blossoms bloom all at once, which makes them ideal for wide-angle lenses. In other words, they are not suitable for macro photography, but there was no point in making excuses, so I took this picture of a single flower floating in the water.

「しなやかに」

　紫色の小さな花が可愛いマツバウンランです。北米原産の帰化植物（園芸用かなにかの目的で輸入されたものが自生したもの）のようですが、庭に生えると雑草です（笑）。背景の（これも雑草ですが）緑とのバランスを考えながらしなやかに強靭なこの花を演出してみました。

    　This is a pineapple orchid with lovely small purple flowers. It seems to be a naturalized plant native to North America (imported for horticultural purposes or something, but now growing wild), but when it grows in the garden, it is a weed (:-p). I tried to produce this flexible and strong flower while considering the balance with the greenery in the background (which is also a weed).
